Approximately 3 hours drive from Château Beaumont; Bayeux is one of the best preserved towns and is a unique Normandy experience.

This excursion offers some excellent opportunities for experiencing French history.  The cathedral, town and gardens are all worth a visit and of course there is the "must-see" famous 69 metres long Bayeux Tapestry.

Due to the journey time, it is recommended as a full day excursion possibly linked with Arromanches (making a very long day).

Bayeux is best en-route to Caen port.
