Planning Your Visit

Listed below is information you may wish to refer to whilst planning and preparing your visit.

Travel

Coaches

  • We work with a select number of coach operators, to ensure the high standard of your coach.
  • All coaches are fully executive, with toilet, DVD player, air-conditioning and seatbelts.
  • Drivers are experienced, courteous, fully qualified and DBS cleared.

Ferries

Our standard ferry crossings are:

  • the P&O Dover-Calais route, which takes approximately 1hr 30mins.
  • the Brittany Ferries’ Portsmouth-Caen route takes approximately 6 hours, but greatly reduces the coach travel time in France.
  • the Euro Tunnel, which takes approximately 35 minutes from Folkestone to Calais.

Accommodation

We offer:

  • ensuite children’s rooms, sleeping between 6 and 14.
  • teachers’ rooms, which are mostly single and en-suite. All have tea and coffee making facilities.
  • Security, ensured through restricted entry, security lighting and the Duty Manager who secures all buildings at lights out.

Meals

Meals at Château Beaumont:

  • are home-cooked, nutritious and filling,
  • have a slightly French flavour, whilst catering for the tastes of young people,
  • cater for all dietary requirements.
  • Packed lunches are provided for groups on excursions and on the day of departure.

Free Time

The facilities at Château Beaumont ensure that your group enjoys every moment of their school trip to France.

  • The Teachers’ Retreat includes refrigerator, Sky television, tea and coffee.
  • Students’ Common Room with a selection of games available.
  • Basketball Court.
  • Classroom Facilities.
  • Chapel Cinema, also the perfect spot for nighttime story telling.
  • Tuck Shop with reasonably priced souvenirs, sweets, postcards, stamps etc.
